Tesco is deepening its commitment to families of premature babies with the introduction of free F&F Premature Sleepsuits, designed specifically for babies weighing 3 and 4lbs.
Starting this week, new parents and carers can collect a complimentary three-pack of the specially designed sleepsuits, created in collaboration with Pampers, from any Tesco Pharmacy during opening hours. With more than 350 participating locations nationwide, Tesco is now the only UK supermarket offering free sleepsuits in these sizes.
The initiative builds on the success of Tesco’s ongoing partnership with Pampers, which already provides free Pampers Preemie Protection nappies to parents and carers of premature babies across the country.
By expanding the support available in its pharmacies, Tesco aims to help families navigate the early, often challenging days of caring for a premature newborn.
We know how overwhelming the early stages of parenting can sometimes be for families, particularly those whose babies arrive early and may need some extra support. Designed with the utmost care, F&F’s Premature Sleepsuits, created in collaboration with Pampers, help protect delicate skin, with thoughtful design details that enable easier dressing and feeding, and ensure maximum comfort for babies born early. The sleepsuits should offer an extra layer of comfort and reassurance, providing meaningful support to families when it is needed most.

The free sleepsuits are available when parents or carers pick up their first collection of nappies.
One in 13 babies in the UK are born prematurely1, and have skin that is up to two times thinner than that of a full-term baby, which makes it highly sensitive to touch2. F&F design experts have developed the sleepsuits specifically for sizes 3lbs and 4lbs for babies born early.
Design details include:
- Soft rip tape fastenings used in place of poppers to protect delicate skin to accommodate medical lines and leads
- No internal seams or labels for comfort on delicate skin
- A lay‑flat design with sleepsuits that open and lay completely flat for easier dressing of premature babies
- Soft fabric that is 100% cotton, tested for 90-degree Celsius hospital-grade washing, and fully tumble‑dry safe, supporting use both in hospitals or at home
This initiative forms part of Tesco’s wider support for parents and their communities with both Tesco own-brand and branded essentials available for babies and toddlers across Tesco stores nationwide. Tesco also previously donated premature baby clothing directly to NHS neonatal units nationwide in 2024.
